RIOT is proud to collaborate with PLeDGE Health, a nonprofit organization in Maputo, Mozambique, committed to advancing emergency medical care and fostering sustainable healthcare education in low-resource settings. Mozambique established its first emergency medicine residency program in 2017 with the support of U.S.-based emergency medicine physicians, and RIOT plays an integral role in its continued development. Through this partnership, RIOT sends volunteer ER physicians, residents, and nurses to provide healthcare for local communities, donate critical medical supplies, and deliver hands-on medical education to Mozambican residents at Hospital Central and Mavalane Hospital. This collaboration not only strengthens emergency medicine in Mozambique but also offers invaluable educational experiences for our American volunteers, enriching their professional growth in an authentic and impactful global health setting.
